Pipe expanders are meant for use on ill-fitting exhaust systems made of soft steel on cars. It seems to me that using one would make small cracks in the chrome plating on the 'Trapp, possibly leading to corrosion and shortening its life. I don't have any experience here, but it just seems logical.
